Tag someone Foxy 🦊😏 I Hand-painted this design today just for fun. People are asking how I do this all freehanded - truth is, sometimes I use special tools. I memorize many characters and can absolutely paint them from my mind with no guides, and 99% of my videos are just that. I have sketchbooks and old shirts full of practice drawings and failed attempts at drawing these things smoothly. Occasionally though, this one included, I'm using AR to project the outlines of a reference sketch on the shirt, so I can paint the black outlines. I'm in a strange place where I don't want to discredit my work and talent, but also don't want to trick anyone into thinking I can just bust out a brand new complicated character perfectly, starting in the middle of the face, with no sketch or guides at all. (can ANYONE do that?) I'm just a man, and I want to make sure I'm transparent about occasionally using projectors/AR, and even AI generated references sometimes. I'm not doing it to win awards and earn recognition - I paint for fun, and to entertain you all. That said - I'd like to see the critics paint the smooth lines with any handicaps they want 😉 this isn't easy!
