Hot weather this week? Are we getting storms? What’s the Glastonbury weather? This week will see temperatures rising, it’s going to get hot and humid for many of us and it will feel muggy by midweek. Northern areas look likely to be worst affected with gusts of 60 to 70 mph, possibly more in exposed parts of Scotland. Things are hotting up in this week’s 5 things to know about the weather 🌡️ 1. Temperatures are rising, partly due to day on day heating and partly due to warm air coming up from Spain and France. Temperatures will reach the low and possibly mid-30s Celsius with parts reaching their heatwave threshold. 2. Later Monday into Tuesday will be a bit wet and windy in the northwest, otherwise there will be a few bits of rain/showers in the west this week but for most it’s looking often dry with plenty of sunshine ☀️ 3. With the often fine weather however pollens levels will reach very high this week, and most of that will be grass pollen which the majority of hay fever sufferers are affected by 🤧 4. Days are at their longest at this time of year with the summer solstice on Saturday which marks the start of astronomical summer. Yes we get hot and sunny weather in summer but this one so far has been fairly unusual, if you look at the stats.
