I mean, it’s not that bad, right?🖌️🔨 Here’s the thing. Not everyone is going to LOVE what you do with YOUR home. The important thing to remember is it’s YOUR home and if YOU love it, that’s what matters. The internet told me not to paint the ceiling as it would make it feel dark and compressed but I love it! The internet then told me doing tile on the wall would be busy and compete with the flooring… but I LOVE it! And then there was the wallpaper and this sent some people because not only am I adding ANOTHER element, it felt like grandma paper. But I think it’s beautiful and elegant. I’m never throwing paint again 😱 We are finally in our new house and that means it’s time to do some projects! First up is our laundry room and although it looks finished, there was a few things I left out to do myself to save money! First is colour drenching the ceiling. The door and attic hatch I am leaving for now (I plan to build a new door and the hatch is metal so may have to leave it!). 🫧Laundry Room Part 2 - How many tiles do you think I laid? ✨ Second project in my laundry room done and goodness, she is 🤩GORGEOUS🤩 if I do not say myself! I love that the tones in the wall tile match perfectly with the floor. The reason I didn’t go for a basketweave pattern (option D) was because with the floor having the pattern that it does, It felt that the floor tile and wall tile would be competing. Basketweave also feels like it could be trendy and out the door soon but that just my thoughts! The vertical staggered draws the eyes upward without competing visually with the floor pattern and not that the ceiling needed to feel higher, it makes the ceiling feel that way. Now onto phase 3 - the large wall that serves no purpose. I want to make it pretty but again, balance the space. I’m thinking some panel moulding that matches the cabinets and then some delicate wallpaper for some character, what do we think?
