yeah these desk mats are not the right color which is confusing since we’ve been stocking these for years 🤨 it is 50% off or so, if you don’t mind beige pink instead of brown beige (which is what it was supposed to be!) my honest review!! I have used acrylic markers before for painting, but never for coloring! They didn’t bleed to the next page which is awesome! But overall it’s just hard to get a clean look with these markers since they can cover up parts of the lines, so that’s why I didn’t really like them for this purpose!! I am so grateful that I can make my books on my own terms, so in the end, it worked out for me! The issue came from the fact that the contract said in big bold letters “10% royalty”, and I saw underneath (ofc I read it all as a law school grad) it said that the royalty would be cut in half if the book was sold for more than 65% off the retail price. What I didn’t know until about 6 months after it was published is that every copy sold to a big box store was at the 65% off rate. I did the deal to begin with because I was explicitly promised that big box stores would buy thousands of copies, and that I would get a 10% royalty. Ultimately, I felt a little misled, but it wasn’t on purpose, and I have no hard feelings about it. But getting less than 50¢ per copy was a little underwhelming to me, and now that I create the books on my own, I have total control and freedom to make what I want!!!
