From our treehouse retreat center lookout, we witness the most magical moments! This one is a mama whale teaching her baby how to breach! Watching from above with my own magical mama, I was reminded that the best way to learn is by watching, doing, and, most of all, playing! What’s the most amazing thing you’ve learned from your mama? Apparently we are still on a 24 hour tsunami watch. Does anybody have other info? The waves are definitely surging more now, but too dark to tell much!
#ad From my off-grid treehouse to the United Nations - this wild wave has brought me (and Zuzu the hermit crab!) from tidepools to the tide of change. Even in the most remote places I explore, plastic pollution plagues our shores. That’s why Zuzu is on a mission, and now his story is part of the United Nations Ocean Conference, where world leaders are uniting to protect our seas #SCJpartner Want to help Zuzu make waves? Sign the petition in my bio to support Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), a policy that holds companies accountable for the plastic waste they create. Let’s turn plastic waste into change and protect our blue planet! Shellllll ya! @JoinZuzu@SC Johnson #JoinZuzu
Last day to win your own fairytale escape. Check my story to enter. Good luck! When I was little, growing up on a remote island, I found a piece of beach trash that changed my world. A tiny Cinderella figurine, still sparkly despite the waves and sun. Most people saw pollution. I saw magic. I talked to her, made up stories, and dreamed that maybe, just maybe, one day I could wear a beautiful dress and stand in front of a castle too. She reminded me that even though I was wild, barefoot, and salty from the sea, my sparkle could shine through too. Fast forward to this moment. I am probably sweatier than I have ever been after flying across the world, driving for hours, and hiking (and literally climbing) with a heavy princess dress in my backpack. But the magic is real. Because it has never been about the perfect dress or a storybook fantasy. It is about the feeling. The dream. The discovery that magic exists right here on planet Earth. And I am so grateful that this very place was officially protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site this week. I have found that if we help preserve the planet, it will help preserve our dreams. Enter the giveaway before midnight…because after that, well, everything might just turn back into a pumpkin.
QUIZ TIME: Which famous fairytale castle was inspired by this one behind me? Any guesses? Leave yours in the comments. This stunning mountaintop fortress is Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Known as the “Fairytale King,” he poured his heart into this dramatic escape, drawing from myths, music, and medieval dreams. One fascinating fact is that it was one of the first buildings in the world to have a telephone, even though there were only a few lines available in the region at the time. Another? It includes a man-made cave inside the castle, created to mimic a mythical grotto from Wagner’s operas. I got to walk through that cave and it truly felt like stepping into a storybook with full on stalactites and stalagmites sparkling from the ceiling and floor! Inside the castle you’ll also find a giant chandelier shaped like a crown, hidden toilets that flushed in the 1800s, and a dining table that could lower through the floor so Ludwig didn’t have to see servants. His bedroom features over-the-top wood carvings that took 14 craftsmen four years to complete, and was lit by more than 600 candles. As for me, I got to live out my own fairytale moment here, complete with a castle kiss…. PS: EXCITING NEWS There is one more chance coming soon to enter the giveaway for a magical stay at the AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort and Spa, right beneath the castle.
