Who's been here since she was born? 🙌🏼 Happy birthday Mila girl ♥️ your sweet and spunky personality, the way you speak like you're already grown, and your love for ballet and music make us smile every day. We all love you beyond words. Birth story: at 6 days late, in a wild turn of events, I began having contractions while meeting our cows that had just arrived at our farm. We got the kids to sleep and labor stalled so l headed to bed, not expecting anything after weeks of prodromal labor. At 2:30am, I woke up to my water breaking and intense contractions. I began timing them until Michael heard me at 2:55am and called the midwife. I believed it was still early labor because it had only been 25 minutes since I woke up, but the intensity scared me for what was to come later. Michael knew it was close. He began timing them and attempted to set up the birth pool, which he then realized we wouldn't have time. I went to the bathroom and realized she was coming then and there. She was born into my hands at 3:20am just 50 minutes after I woke up and well before my midwife made it with her long drive. I held her while Michael checked her, cleaned up, and got us warm with towels. About 5 minutes after her birth, we found out she was a girl, which was a huge surprise after 6 boys.
