You are leaving disabled people behind, just like y’all always have! And to be clear, I’m not calling these two events out to be the “pinnacle of ableism,” but rather two casual examples of how rampant and ignored this ableism can be, even in “leftist” spaces! This is a societal issue, and the ableism we face gives barriers to these community organizers just like it does to us! I don’t blame these event organizers more than I blame systemic ableism! There are so many things ableds don’t HAVE to think about, but this is exactly why disabled people need to be apart of leading our movements and communities! You wouldn’t have to anticipate every little possible accommodation if you had a wide and diverse array of disabled folks to consult on and help plan your events! So many community organizers are disabled for this reason, it’s fairly blatant to me when an event doesn’t have a single disabled person involved in running it!

These are not the only reasons to lighten up on these communities, just the big examples I often see SWERFs not think about before spreading their hate!
